Music Weekly - featuring Scout Niblett

Scout Niblett. Doing some scouting. Perhaps.

The Nottingham born anti-folk hero is our guest in this week's show. Sorry, make that this week's award-winning show, for Music Weekly has been named best music podcast at this year's Record of the Day awards. We beat the likes of the Sun and Drowned in Sound to seize the crown. Or in this case, the framed 12" bearing our name.

Anyway, back to Ms Niblett, who joined us to discuss the making of her excellent new LP This Fool Can Die Now. We talked blues, drums, wigs and Steve Albini, while Scout performs a non-acoustic (that means electric, a first for our pod) version of Do You Want to be Buried With My People? (There's no rush, take a minute to think about it)

This week's dongles, (singles + downloads= dongles), come in the shape of Gallows and their re-working of 80s punk anthem Staring at the Rude Bois. They enlist the help of Lethal Bizzle, but what else do they have to offer? Plus, new singles from Canadian singer-songwriter Caribou and Danish combo Raveonettes.

The fun doesn't stop there either as there's further chatter with marmite band of the moment Palladium. Peter Pepper and band spoke to us about their sound (think Nik Kershaw in a neon visor), and we were inclined to ask; unique and of-the-moment or some sort of marketing ploy? Judge for yourself with our exclusive pod version of the band's single High 5.

Byeee!
