This week, the pod played host to two parts of South London indie quartet Good Shoes, joining us to discuss the sound of the suburbs, breaking hearts, and what the kids are feeling (ie liking) these days. That was before breaking into a plugged version of Never Meant To Hurt You, and many thanks to Brille records for letting us play the full version.
Elsewhere, the Kaiser Chiefs sup on smoothies and ponder "How big is too big for a band to be?", while the new dongles from Regina Spektor, Unklejam and Enter Shikari come under critical fire from just about everyone in the studio (in the cold light of day we're wondering: were we too harsh?).
Also getting our goat (and the goat of many others), is the following question: how exactly do you pronounce Maximo Park? We promise to find the authoritative answer by next week's pod but, in the meantime, any linguistic experts who care to offer their opinions are most welcome to do so in the space below.
Next week we've got New Young Pony Club coming into the pod, and as always we treasure your input. There's been a lot of noise in favour of punk trio The Noisettes, anyone else you're desperate to have visit us?
And, just quickly: when is a band too big?
What's the difference between suburban and urban music?
What is the point of Unklejam?
