Music video by Tokyo-born filmmaker wins Grammy

LOS ANGELES -- A music video directed by Tokyo-born filmmaker Hiro Murai won the award for Best Music Video at the 61st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The music video for "This Is America" by artist Childish Gambino drew attention for addressing various social problems in the United States, including through graphic depictions of gun violence.

Murai was born in 1983 and moved to the United States at age 9, going on to win acclaim as a video director. He is the son of composer Kunihiko Murai, known for his work on "Tsubasa o Kudasai" (Please give me wings) and other songs.
