Music under a cold moon

This winter will be fun and relaxing in lower northern Thailand as the "Chang Music Connection Presents Overcoat Music Festival" will return to the Jolly Land Starlight Amphitheatre in Khao Kho of Phetchabun on Sunday starting at 4pm.

Held in collaboration with Media Wrap, the ninth edition of the winter music festival will bring a myriad of leading acts and artists to perform in the cool breezes and against the surrounding hills in what is expected to be another phenomenon that has been overwhelmingly embraced by both local audiences and music lovers from Bangkok every year.

This is also another chance to chill out at the country's first natural amphitheatre, located on a 1,000m-high mountain of Khao Khao, known as the little Switzerland of Thailand, where one can view seas of mist and clouds and enjoy the chilly temperatures that can be as low as 5C on some nights.

Taking turns to warm the hearts of all spectators with their easy-listening songs, and also special tunes from the evening to the predawn hours of the next morning, will be favourites like Two Popetorn, Boy Peacemaker, Aof Pongsak, Nont Tanont, Da Endorphine, The Toys, Stamp, Jetset'er, Potato, Room39, Slot Machine, Lomosonic, UrboyTJ, Lipta, Polycat, Klear, 25 Hours, Palmy and Big Ass.

Each will come with their full-scale music showcase, and whether they will engage in jam sessions as in previous years remains to be seen. Adding more vibes to the festival will be fun activities available in many zones throughout the night.

This is the one time a year for music lovers to grab their favourite overcoats, gloves, hats, mats and even blankets, and prepare to sing and dance together under the starry night sky. The festival promises to offer another one-of-a-kind experience that will bring everyone back next year.
