Music by The National and Slowthai to be explored at new London exhibition

A multi-sensory exhibition focusing on the composition of tracks by The National and Slowthai will open in London this weekend.

The Brilliant Sound Experience will use sound and light to explore different aural elements used by both artists to make their music.

The National’s track Rylan and Toaster by Slowthai have been chosen, and the exhibition promises to delve into the layers of production on both songs.

Scott Devendorf, bassist in The National, said: “For many of our fans, Rylan has taken on a life of its own.

“It’s great we’re able to give people the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the song — both audibly and visually — through The Brilliant Sound Experience.”

A second room will highlight the various emotional responses triggered by music. Attendees will don an EEG headband while listening to music from the Beggars Group labels in order to chart their brains’ reactions.

The Brilliant Sound Experience will be hosted by Sonos to mark the arrival of Google Assistant on its audio system. The smart control will guide guests around the exhibition.

Those wishing to book a timeslot should click here, although spaces will be reserved for daily walk-ups.

August 2-4, The Vinyl Factory, 18 Marshall Street, W1F 6BE
