Museum of Broken Relationships comes to London - in pictures

The multi-site exhibition will show poignant objects from failed relationships, donated by people from around the world Photograph: PR

Each object tells the story of a past love, romance or affair, from a wedding dress and a teddy bear to more obscure objects such as a crumbling garden gnome and a cast from a broken leg Photograph: PR

The main collection will be exhibited at the Tristan Bates Theatre on Tower Street Photograph: PR

A smaller selection of objects will be shown at 38 Earlham Street Photograph: PR

Shops in the Seven Dials area have donated their windows to showcase items from the exhibition, including Coco de Mer, Tatty Devine, TSHIRT STORE and Urban Outfitters Photograph: PR

The Tristan Bates Theatre has commissioned artists, directors and performers to create new work inspired by locally collected artefacts Photograph: PR

There will also be a programme of performances from 18 August Photograph: PR

The commissioned artists include novelist Ben Okri, singer/songwriter ESKA, Poet Curious, composer Tim Bamber, the Guerilla Dance Project, Coney and Cosmopolitan’s agony aunt, Irma Kurtz Photograph: PR
