Nothing quite says Christmas like crispy pigs in blankets and it would seem that the nation can’t get enough of them.
Each winter, major supermarkets battle it out to create the most impressive pigs in blankets for our festive feasts.
Now online protein rich and health food retailer MuscleFood.com has gone the extra mile this year to create Britain’s largest pork snack yet.
Made with succulent gluten-free sausage meat wrapped in streaky bacon rashers, the Giant Pig In A Blanket boasts the weight of two Celebration tubs (1.2kg) and will feed up to 10 peckish guests.
Not only this, it contains the same amount of meat as 116 regular pigs in blankets – a meat lover's dream come true.
Best of all, the absolute banger of a festive treat can be yours for a pocket-friendly price of £17.95.
But MuscleFood isn’t the only food retailer going large this season. Budget supermarkets Asda and Aldi are also selling foot-long pigs in blankets, just in time for the Christmas period.
The Extra Special Ultimate Pig in Blanket from Asda is priced at just a fiver, containing over 500g of British Red Tractor Pork and wrapped with 100g of dry cured streaky bacon. It weighs a total of 650g and serves up to 10 people.
Meanwhile, Aldi’s festive offering claims to be around five times the size of a standard pig in blanket. The meaty treat comes in a pack of two and is priced at an impressive £2.99, but you’ll have to wait until December 6 to stock up.
