This may not have gotten as much publicity as it should have, but two Ohio State basketball players were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court this past week.
Both Musa Jallow and Kyle Young were a part of more than 1,350 men’s basketball college student-athletes who received the honor for excelling in the classroom.
According to the release from the university, in order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. Those qualifications include all of the following:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2019-20 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
Young will be heading into his senior season, why Jallow will is a rising junior. Both are expected to contribute in a major way on Ohio State’s basketball team this upcoming winter but are clearly already doing great work off the court.
Jallow is majoring in exercise science while Young is working on a degree in sport industry. Congrats to both of these guys.
