Murray Davidson extends St Johnstone stay

Long-serving midfielder Murray Davidson has penned a one-year contract extension at St Johnstone.

The 32-year-old’s new deal will take him through until the summer of 2021.

Davidson becomes the latest Perth player to extend their stay at the club, following on from the likes of Liam Craig, Chris Kane and Callum Booth earlier this week.

He first arrived at McDiarmid Park way back in 2009 and has moved on to earn himself a testimonial with the club.

Saints’ caretaker manager Alec Cleland said: “Murray has been a tremendous player for St Johnstone and I’m sure I speak for everybody when I say how delighted we are that he’s signed for next year.

“Having arrived at St Johnstone during the same summer as him - prior to working together at Livingston - I know exactly what he brings to the team and his experience will be vital as we look to push on next season.”
