Australia's biggest media company, Rupert Murdoch's News Ltd, has told the federal government that it cannot support its proposed media reforms. Despite the plan to lift restrictions on both cross-media and foreign ownership, News Ltd's submission to the government registered its opposition because the existing "discriminatory" limits on broadcasting licences will be retained.
