Murdo MacLeod in toe-curling Q&A session with former club as ex-Celtic star becomes lost for words

We all need some entertainment during these difficult times... it's the only thing that will get us through.

SPFL teams are doing all they can to bring some light relief during lockdown and Dumbarton are no different.

The Sons are a good follow on social media and looked to bring some cheer to their fanbase with a fun-packed question and answer session with former player, boss and local legend Murdo MacLeod.

But someone forgot to tell Murdo as the 61-year-old former Celtic star produced a series of responses akin to a hostage refusing to give his captors anything to go on.

Take this three-question exchange, for example.

Question: Who is your favourite player of all time?

Answer: I don't have a favourite player.

Q: Who inspired or influenced your career the most over the years?

A: All my managers had an influence on my football career.

Q: Have you ever been star struck by anyone famous you’ve met over the years?

A: I don't think I have ever been star struck, when you meet a hero, you feel great.

Wise words, indeeed.

Not every response was as reserved but the former Scotland international certainly didn't arrive with some hilarious tales of yesteryear.

And we don't think the ex-Dortmund star has strengthened his case to be Simon Ferry's next guest.

Fans on social media were quick to notice the rather staccato responses.

DSM , said: "These are inspirational lads, keep them coming."

Another added: 'I don't even watch sports — but i feel like i have such a handle on what is going on now after this, thank you so much Dumbarton for providing great context + a really bang up interview."

Grant joked: "Murdo looks like he’s putting in a lot of effort with his answers."
