Murdered 'family man' was a lover of 'sport, dogs and his daughter'

The daughter of a man found murdered in a house has movingly paid tribute to him.

Police this afternoon confirmed the name of the tragic 58-year-old as Mark Bradbury who was shockingly attacked in a house on Station Road in Poulton-with-Fearnhead, Warrington.

The heartbroken relative said: “Mark was a family man, life and soul of every party, generous and loyal.

"Everyone who knew him is suffering from immense heartache.

"A lover of sport, dogs and his daughter, Mark will be greatly missed as he is loved.”

Mr Bradbury attended Woolston High School when he was a boy and worked for a recycling firm in Warrington.

He was discovered on Sunday evening, at 9.56pm.

A post mortem examination has been carried out to establish why he died.

But Cheshire Police today declined to release those results for "investigative purposes."

Mr Bradbury was attacked on the same street where Garry Newlove was murdered by a gang of feral youths on August 12, 2007 - twelve years ago.

Police arrived at the Warrington home following a report of concern for safety and found the man's body inside.

The death was initially treated as unexplained but was quickly upgraded to murder.

Detective Inspector Sarah Oliver, of Cheshire Police's Major Investigation Team, said: “The investigation continues to be in its early stages and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding Mark’s death.

“We have been conducting house-to-house enquiries, exploring CCTV and a number of officers remain at the scene.

“There are also local officers in the area to provide reassurance to the community and I would encourage anyone who has any information or concerns to speak to them.”

Mr Bradbury's family are being supported by specialist officers.

On Facebook, friends were giving their own tributes to the 58-year-old.

Richard Towers wrote: "God bless H.

"Rest in peace."
