A 23-year-old man who was stabbed to death outside a parade of shops was today named by police as Connor Dockerty.
The victim, who is from Litherland, was knifed on Kingway, in Huyton, just after 8pm on Monday, April 19.
Merseyside Police today released Mr Dockerty's name after confirming that four children had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detectives have detained four teenagers. Two boys, aged 15, a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were all arrested on suspicion of murder.
They are in custody and are being questioned as part of an investigation into Mr Dockerty's death.
Mr Dockerty's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A post mortem examination revealed he died from multiple stab wounds.

An investigation is ongoing and detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone who has any information to come forward.
Detectives are keen to piece together the last movements of the victim before he was viciously knifed on Kingway, just after 8pm.
It has emerged the man was riding his black Ghost bike minutes before the killing and had a conversation with a group of "males and females," police said.

Today, Detective Chief Inspector Siobhan Gainer, of Merseyside Police, said: "We are continuing to appeal for the public’s help and I want to appeal directly to anyone who was on Kingsway at the time this incident happened to contact us.
"If you have CCTV, dashcam or video/mobile footage from the Kingsway or Liverpool Road area at around 8pm on Monday night, please get in touch.”
