A 38-year-old man was released on bail today following the death of a woman in Prescot.
Polic e were called out to Greenall Court, on Greenall Road in Prescot, at around 3.30am on Saturday morning following what was described by police as a 'domestic incident.'
A woman in her 40s was found at the scene with fatal injuries, after reportedly falling from a window.
A 38-year-old man who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder has been released on bail pending further investigations.
Detective Inspector Sue Hinds said: "At this moment in time, we are still looking into the full circumstances which lead to this woman tragically losing her life.
"Therefore, we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was in the area, either walking or driving past specifically between 2.30-3.30am and believes they have information that could help or have dashcam footage which could be relevant, to please come forward.
"It is crucial that we investigate thoroughly and take all information into account to ensure the outcome of this investigation is accurate."
Tributes poured in, following the tragic incident, with many leaving messages of condolence on social media.
Sandra Steele wrote: "Such sad news, heartbroken for all her family. Thinking of you all."
Davies Marie wrote: "RIP girl, reunited with your son x so sad x."
Another woman also wrote on the ECHO's Facebook page to say the woman who died was her sister-in-law and she was "loving".
Nadine Henderson wrote: "RIP my friend, I'll never forget you xx"
Condolences were also offered to the woman's family.
