A murder is still unsolved after a body was found in a flat in the summer.
Questions marks are still hanging over the shocking death of a man at a flat in Southport in July this year. Emergency services rushed to an address on Bath Street in Southport, near where it meets Nevill Street, when a body of a 57-year-old man was discovered on Sunday, July 24, with the cause of death unknown.
Two men, 51 and 54 years old, were initially arrested on suspicion of murder but were released on bail. Since then, no further arrests have been made and the murder remains unsolved.

When approached for an update, Merseyside Police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing and the death is still being treated as a murder. Following the discovery, Detective Inspector Matthew Kerr said at the time: “It is with great sadness that we confirm that a man was found dead at a property on Bath Street.
“We are in the very early stages of the investigation as we seek to establish what has taken place and how he died. We urge anyone who may have seen or know something that might help with the investigation to please contact us.”
