Murder probe police make arrest in connection with death of Neath man Richard Andrews

A man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the suspected murder of Richard Andrews.

According to South Wales Police , the man is 40 years old and from Liverpool.

Police are still investigating the death of Mr Andrews and Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever may be responsible.

Mr Andrews, also known as Monkey, was from the Melyn area of Neath . He was reported missing in January, 2018, although the last confirmed sighting of him alive was Saturday, September 16, 2017.

His body was discovered by a member of the public eight months after he disappeared , on Saturday, September 29, 2018 on the banks of the River Neath.

A 48-year-old Neath man who was previously arrested in connection with his death also remains on bail.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “We continue to appeal for information in relation to Mr Andrews’ death.

“The independent charity Crimestoppers is today offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder of Richard Andrews.
