Murder probe launched after man dies in flat at tower block

A murder probe has been launched after a 30-year-old man died at a flat in Motherwell in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to Doonside Tower at 4.10am to reports of a man with serious injuries.

The man died at the scene and officers are currently treating his death as murder.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 4.10am, Police received reports of a man with serious injuries within a flat in Doonside Tower, Motherwell.

“The 30-year-old died at the scene and officers are currently treating this death as murder and are following a positive line of enquiry.

“Anyone with any information on this incident please contact 101 quoting incident number 0408 of August 13 or you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
