Murder probe in Putney after man, 42, dies after stabbing

A murder probe has been launched in Putney after a 42-year-old man died after a stabbing in Putney.

Met Police launched a murder investigation after 42-year-old Ralph Gibson, from Putney, was found with stab injuries in Huntingfield Road.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at around 5.35pm on April 15 and Mr Gibson was taken to hospital for treatment. He later died on Friday.

Mr Gibson's next of kin have been informed and a post mortem examination will be scheduled in due course, police said.

Three men, aged 31, 24 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of GBH and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vandenbergh from Specialist Crime, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Huntingfield Road and Pleasance Road in Putney on the evening of April 15 to come forward and speak to officers if you saw or heard anything that could assist this investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 or tweet @MetCC or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
