Oxford stabbing: Murder probe as man, 22, run over and repeatedly knifed

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was run over and repeatedly stabbed in Oxford.

The unnamed man was attacked on February 27 but died of his injuries in hospital on Wednesday night.

The man was aged 22 and from Southampton, Thames Valley Police said. His family have been informed.

Det Ch Insp Stuart Blaik, said: “We believe the incident started at approximately 11.20pm in Ridgefield Road before moving into Southfield Road and involved a number of people.

“Sadly, the injuries sustained by the victim have proved fatal, and a murder investigation has been launched.

“I am continuing to appeal for any witnesses who may have seen what happened, or have any information about this incident to contact us.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have mobile phone, CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference number 1134 of March 6, 2019.
