Murder probe after man found dead in freezer at Warwickshire recycling unit

An elderly man has been found dead inside a freezer at a recycling unit in Warwickshire.

A murder probe has been launched after the body was discovered on Friday at a waste management centre in Colliery Lane, Exhall, near Coventry.

The appliance was taken to the site by workers who deal with house clearances.

They had removed it from a housing association flat in Birmingham, West Midlands Police said.

A 50-year-old man, believed to have been known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in custody in Derby.

A post-mortem is due to take place on Wednesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Midlands Police on 101 quoting log 2654 of August 21.
