Police have arrested three people after a man’s body was reportedly found in a wall cavity inside a former bank.

Officers found the remains hidden in the building in Batley, West Yorkshire, after they forced entry to the premises on Sunday, The Sun reported.

Detectives are now working to confirm the man’s identity and the circumstances surrounding his death.

All three of those arrested were held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Two have been released under investigation while the third has been bailed, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police attended the former bank premises in Commercial Street, Batley on Sunday in relation to enquiries by West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

"Road closures were put in place to allow officers to search the building.

"These searches are continuing today and the road closures remain in place.

"There is no risk to the public at this time.”

A crime scene remains in place.
