Live updates as murder investigation launched after stabbing in Everton

A man has died after being stabbed in Liverpool last night.

Police were called to Lavan Close, Everton, at around 11.30pm on Sunday, April 10. A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds but sadly died following his injuries.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police are conducting CCTV and house-to-house enquiries as the area surrounding Lavan Close remains closed for forensic examinations.

Robbers smash way into jewellers in 'ram raid'

A Merseyside jewellers was targeted in a ram raid earlier today.

Police attended John Bell jewellers on King Street in Southport at around 1.30am after reports of a break in. It has been confirmed that items were stolen.

The suspects reportedly drove off in a white Seat car towards Portland Street. An area around the building has been cordoned off as police conduct enquires.
