Murder investigation launched after man, 30, killed in 'horrific' incident in Tyldesley

Police have launched a murder investigation following death of a 30-year-old in the early hours of this morning (September 25).

Emergency services were called to the scene in Tyldesley, at around 1.30am following what police described as a "horrific" incident.

Attending an address in Charleston Court, Greater Manchester Police found a man who had suffered a number of 'serious injuries'.

Paramedics tried desperately to save his life but he died at the scene.

Police have now taped-off the area and detectives have launched an investigation into the man's death.

His family and relatives are being supported by specially-trained officers.

Officers have issued an appeal for witnesses.

Detective Chief Inspector Liz Hopkinson, from GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "This is an horrific incident, in which a man has tragically lost his life.

"Our thoughts remain with his family at this time, who are being supported by specialist officers.

"We understand the distress an incident like this can cause for people living nearby, and we're following a number of lines of enquiry to find out what exactly happened, and to bring those responsible to justice.

"We're keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything, or who may have CCTV in the area.
