Murder investigation launched after 32-year-old stabbed in east London

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbed in Leyton, east London.

Police were called at 4.31pm on Sunday, August 22 following reports of a stabbing in a house on Lea Bridge Road.

Officers rushed to the scene along with London Ambulance Service paramedics and the London Air Ambulance and found a 32-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

He was treated at the scene before being transported to an east London hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

A video shared on Twitter showed a large number of emergency service vehicles present, including an ambulance, police cars and paramedics.

An investigation is underway but there have been no arrests at this stage.

Gerry Campbell MBE, a former detective chief superintendent at Scotland Yard, tweeted: "Terrible news again as another person is stabbed to death in #London #WalthamForest. This afternoon a 32 year old man was stabbed in #Leyton and died at hospital.

"Truly tragic news awaits loved ones and friends."
