A man has died after being found with serious injuries in a house near Newsham Park.

Merseyside Police have launched a murder investigation, after a 53-year-old man was seriously injured in a property on Belmont Drive. Emergency services, included paramedics, were called to the home at around 3pm on Wednesday, July 27.

Leroy Venner, from Toxteth, was rushed to hospital but he died from his injuries. Officers say a post mortem will now take place to establish the cause of death. His next of kin have been informed.
