Murder investigation as 24-year-old found injured on Aberdeen street dies

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a 24-year-old was killed in Aberdeen.

Dylan Geddes, from the Northfield area of the city, was found seriously injured in the street at around 12.35am on Thursday, July 10.

He was taken to hospital, but pronounced dead a short time later.

Officers said on Saturday that, following the results of a post-mortem examination, the death is being treated as murder.

The 24-year-old’s family said in a statement released through Police Scotland: “Dylan was a much-loved son, grandson, brother and nephew. He will be sorely missed every day by all who knew him.

“The family is absolutely devastated by what has happened and would like privacy at this difficult time.”

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death in Pennan Road area, following a disturbance at a property in Coningham Terrace. He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, 14 July, 2025.

Detective Inspector James Callander, from the Major Investigation Team, said: "Our thoughts remain with Dylan’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“Specially trained officers continue to offer support and keep them updated with our investigation.

"I’d like to thank the local community for their support and reassure them that additional officers remain in the area as part of our enquiries. Anyone with concerns can approach these officers.”
