A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death at a party near Motherwell over the weekend.

The man who sadly lost his life has been named locally as 23-year-old Cameron McMillan.
The Daily Record reports neighbours have said a disturbance started in a house party and spilled out onto the street.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 5.50am on Sunday, 19 May 2019, police received a report of a disturbance in Quarry Street, Motherwell resulting in the death of a 23 year old man.
"Emergency services attended and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
"Officers are treating the death as suspicious and a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course."
