Police are hunting four men after an attempted murder in a flat in Edinburgh.

Cops are appealing for information on the four suspects who broke into the home in the the capital and stabbed a 19-year-old repeatedly.

His terrified mum told the Record how she was forced to listen as the gang set about her son and left him with serious injuries including a punctured liver, two abdominal wounds, one to each buttock and his thigh.

Police have now revealed that the young man had been involved in a fight with youths outside the the Ferry Road Drive shops around 8.40pm last night where he suffered an injury to his face before making his way home to West Pilton Grove.

It is understood that the mum broke up the fracas and the pair returned home.

But around an hour later four men broke in and stabbed the 19-year-old again and again.

He was rushed to hospital with stab wounds where his condition is described as 'serious'.
