Murder cops cordon off Motherwell pub after man stabbed to death in tower block

A Motherwell pub has been cordoned off by police amid an ongoing murder probe.

The Bull Frog Bar and Lounge on Shields Road has been surrounded by police tape since Tuesday morning.

It comes as police launched a murder investigation into the death of Terry Smith during the early hours.

The pub is just a five minute walk from Doonside Tower, where emergency services rushed to his aid after suffering serious stab injuries.

It is understood that several emergency services arrived at the high rise building after reports from neighbours of a disturbance at around 4am.

However, the 30-year-old died as a result of his injuries shortly after.

Police have already said that they are following a positive line of enquiry on the incident.
