Murder charge after 76-year-old man found injured at home in riverside Perth suburb dies in hospital

A 29-year-old man has been charged with murdering a 76-year-old man, who was found seriously injured at a house in one of Perth's most exclusive suburbs on the weekend.

The man died after he was taken to hospital on Saturday from a house in the riverside suburb of Mosman Park, in the city's west.

He was found by a neighbour at the Boundary Road property and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where he later died.

Police have charged Sebastian Horacio Ruiz with murder.

Mr Ruiz is from the northern Perth suburb of Hocking, about 40 kilometres away from the scene.

He appeared in court today but was not required to enter a plea.

Acting Detective Superintendent Brett Ranford said a woman in her 20s had assisted police with their inquiries.

"We will allege that the female person has introduced this person [the accused] to the deceased and it has been through that relationship and connection that this homicide has occurred," he said.

Police have asked witnesses or anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
