At Glasgow High Court on Wednesday (May 12) Samuel Maxwell, 33, and Malcolm Cumlin, 31, were sentenced to 9 years in prison each following the attack on August 8, 2019.

The victim, who at the time, was 31 years old, was on Maryhill Road, near to Glencloy Street, when he was approached by two men and attacked with a weapon.

Detective Chief Inspector John Morrison said: “This was a targeted and violent attack which left a man with serious injuries. Their actions could have cost the man his life and we welcome them being brought to account for their actions.
