Murder bid in Drumchapel leaves victim in hospital with serious stab wounds

A man has been left seriously injured after being stabbed in Drumchapel, Glasgow .

Police have launched an attempted murder probe after the incident, which left the 28-year-old man needing hospital treatment for his wounds.

The victim was walking through a grassy area between Glenkirk Drive and Kinfauns Drive when he was approached from behind by a man who seriously assaulted him at 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services swooped on the scene and the injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for stab wounds.  

Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

Detective Constable Jennifer Boyle from Drumchapel Police Station, said: "Enquiries are at an early stage into this attack and we are working to establish more information with officers carrying out enquiries in the local area and gathering CCTV footage.

"This is a busy area and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that will assist our investigation to contact officers".
