A murder investigation is underway after the body of a man was found in a house.
Emergency services were called to New Ferry Road in Rock Ferry at around 1.30am today (Tuesday), to reports of a man's body being found in a property.
The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is said to be in his 40s.

A 59-year-old man from Wirral has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody for questioning.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed an investigation is underway and two scenes are currently in place on New Ferry Road and Egerton Park while officers continue their forensic and house-to house enquiries.
Witnesses reported a matrix van pulling up at the Egerton Park scene at around 2pm and officers are believed to have taped off the bin stores outside the flats.
