Munster star Keith Earls facing fitness race for Six Nations opener

Keith Earls could face a race to be fit for Ireland's opening Six Nations clash with Scotland as a minor knee injury keeps him out of Munster's final Champions Cup pool game on Sunday.

The Reds will know by the time they kick off against Ospreys at Thomond Park if their hopes of making the quarter-finals are still alive.

Johann van Graan has made two changes to his side from the won that lost at Racing 92 last week, with winger Calvin Nash handed his debut in the competition, while Fineen Wycherley makes his first Champions Cup start in a pack that includes Billy Holland, making his 225th appearance for the province, and Dave Kilcoyne, who reaches the half century of Champions Cup caps.

Academy pair Jack O’Sullivan and Ben Healy could make their European debuts off the bench but Shane Daly is another to miss out through injury having suffered a thumb issue in training.

Munster: Haley, Conway, Farrell, R Scannell, Nash, Hanrahan, Murray; Kilcoyne, N Scannell, Archer, Wycherley, Holland, O’Mahony (c), O’Donoghue, Stander.

Replacements: O’Byrne, Loughman, Ryan, Botha, O’Sullivan, Casey, Healy, Goggin.
