Munster's Arno Botha to go before independent disciplinary committee over red card against Saracens

Arno Botha will go before an independent disciplinary committee in London tomorrow following his sending-off against Saracens at Thomond Park on Saturday.

The Munster back row came off the bench in the Reds' victory but was red carded in the 81st minute by ref Romain Poite for striking Sarries replacement Nick Tompkins with his arm.

Carrying the ball out of his own half just as the clock had ticked into the red, Botha led with his forearm into the neck of Tompkins and, after consulting with the TMO, Poite sent off the South African.

Both will miss the return Champions Cup clash at Saracens on Saturday and, under World Rugby's sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.12 relating to striking with the arm could see Both receive a suspension between two to six weeks.

Dan White (England) will chair the hearing, and the disciplinary committee will also comprise of Frank Hadden (Scotland) and Marcello d’Orey (Portugal).
