Munster injury update as Conor Murray is assessed and RG Snyman undergoes surgery

Conor Murray is to undergo a scan to assess the seriousness of a thigh strain he suffered in Monday's PRO14 semi-final loss to Leinster last week.

Ireland 's Six Nations return is pencilled in for October 24 and the experienced scrum-half should certainly be fit by then. RG Snyman has also undergone surgery on his torn ACL and Munster say that it went 'very well'. The Springbok second row has begun his rehab.

With the next PRO14 season provisionally set to begin on October 3, the Reds will have a double-header of 'A' team fixtures against Connacht planned before that on the weekends of September 19 and 26.

While the players were at Munster 's HPC in UL this week, the bulk of the frontliners set to resume training ahead of the new campaign on September 21.

Jean Kleyn will start to work in training this week having recovered from a neck injury that kept him out of the semi-final, while Andrew Conway is following return to play protocols after suffering a head injury in last Friday's defeat at the Aviva Stadium.
