Munster in search of another pre-season fixture after Bath cancel 'due to Covid-19'

Munster are trying to secure another pre-season game after their scheduled fixture with Bath was cancelled today.

Bath issued a statement confirming that the team are no longer able to travel 'due to Covid-19' for the Saturday, September 4 encounter.

Stuart Hooper, Bath's Director of Rugby, said: “We are hugely disappointed that we are unable to play this fixture and apologise to all supporters planning to attend.

"The health and safety of our players, staff and wider rugby community remains our top priority."

Munster thanked Bath for their efforts in "trying to facilitate this game during a challenging period", with the Reds adding that they are looking at the possibility of an "alternative fixture opportunity for the same day in Thomond Park and an update will follow in due course.

"Supporter ticket refund details will also be included in the next update, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters for their patience and understanding at this time."

Munster are due to travel to Devon on September 11 to take on Exeter Chiefs in their other scheduled pre-season game.
