The groups for the pre-season Munster competitions in both codes have been determined.
Holders Clare have been placed in a group alongside provincial champions Limerick and All-Ireland winners Tipperary in the Co-Op Superstores Munster Senior Hurling League, while Joe McDonagh Cup side Kerry will look to make the step-up against Waterford and Cork.
In football, somewhat unusually, all six of the Munster counties have opted to enter the McGrath Cup, which was also won by Clare earlier this year.
They look to have a reasonable shot at retaining it given that they have avoided Kerry, Cork and Tipperary in the group stage, with that trio placed together in Group B, while Clare will face Limerick and Waterford.
The fixtures for the competitions have yet to be drawn up but it is likely that some will take place pre-Christmas.
