Peter O'Mahony and Chris Farrell must complete a period of isolation before joining the Ireland squad on Monday ahead of the Six Nations clash with Italy next weekend.
All the players selected in the 35-man squad for the final two championship fixtures produced negative PCR tests at the start of the week before entering the Ireland camp, as did the management team.
However Munster skipper O'Mahony and centre Farrell were identified as close contacts of the senior Reds player who tested positive last week and have been isolating since.
Meanwhile, Andy Farrell has brought Connacht's Ultan Dillane into the squad that met up today, with Ryan Baird missing through injury.
The young Leinster second row picked up an adductor strain against Benetton last Saturday and has been ruled out of the Italy and France games, but could play some part in next month's Autumn Nations Cup.
Farrell will be without Jordan Larmour, who dislocated his shoulder in that game in Italy, but as yet he has not called in a replacement.
Positive news is that Farrell is hopeful that Johnny Sexton, Ronan Kelleher and Andrew Porter will be able to restart training next week as they recover from injury.
