Munster confirm RG Snyman suffered ACL tear in PRO14 clash with Leinster

Munster have confirmed that World Cup winner RG Snyman sustained an ACL tear in their PRO14 defeat to Leinster.

The South African lock was forced off injured just seven minutes into his debut for the province at the Aviva Stadium over the weekend.

Snyman will now meet with a specialist to discuss surgery and managing the injury.

Meanwhile, Dave Kilcoyne and Jean Kleyn have also been ruled out for the immediate future with both players requiring rehabilitation periods for respective ankle and neck ligament injuries.

Munster said in a statement on Tuesday morning: "It has been confirmed that the province’s newest debutant, RG Snyman, sustained an ACL tear in the opening minutes of Saturday night’s Guinness PRO14 encounter against Leinster.

"The lock will meet with the specialist next to discuss surgery and management."

Munster face Connacht in their second PRO14 game since the resumption of rugby this weekend.
