Munster's Joey Carbery will miss the rest of the season.
The out-half has been out since January and received surgery on an ankle issue last week.
Ireland and Reds star Carbery initially was forced out of action two months ago with a wrist injury which required surgery.
The 24-year-old then underwent another procedure on an ankle problem which has dogged him since injury in a World Cup warm-up game against Italy last August.
"As Carbery is already undergoing rehabilitation for a wrist injury, it was decided to go ahead with the elective procedure on his ankle," said a Munster spokesperson.
Munster confirmed tonight that Carbery’s expected return to training will be at the start of pre-season ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
Jean Kleyn, Rhys Marshall, Tadhg Beirne, Brian Scott and Tyler Bleyendaal are all on the current Munster injury list.
Johann Van Graan's men saw off Scarlets 29-10 last Saturday in the PRO14 and are set to face Benetton at Stadio Monigo on March 21.
They host Benetton a week later in Cork - but both fixtures are in doubt due to the coronavirus.
