Munster coach Johann van Graan admits his Irish contingent face significant mental battle after disappointing World Cup

Munster coach Johann van Graan admits his 12 Irish players face a significant mental battle following their disappointing World Cup exit.

Van Graan will have them available from November 4, just in time for the start of the Heineken Cup campaign.

The Reds face Ospreys in the PRO14 this weekend, the first of 13 games in as many weeks for Munster.

Van Graan is concerned about how his World Cup players will cope with those demands and their Japanese regret.

He said: “It will be a challenge. They are in a very good physical state but to get past the disappointment of not getting further in the World Cup is pretty tough.”
