Mums are going wild for Aldi's fabric conditioner - but not for their clothes

A social media post obsessing over Aldi's own-brand fabric conditioner has gone viral online - and not for the reasons you might expect.

The discounter's Almat softener has received dozens of shares online, with mums insisting it's much more than just your average laundry product.

In fact, they're using the fresh-smelling £1.75 bottle to clean anything but their clothes - with many saying it works wonders on windows and radiators.

They've also said it works on rings too, keeping them sparkling bright.

On Facebook page Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, users shared their hacks on how to use the product to clean surfaces from windows, wood and anything high gloss.

The thread started after one woman told the group she'd discovered that the fabric softener mixed with warm water was perfect for cleaning windows and mirrors.

"A new cleaning hack for you...windows, wood and anything high gloss, cap full of fabric softener and warm water. Rub on, rub off," she wrote.

"I love it. I've done my lounge windows and PVC, fireplace, snow globes, plant pots and pic frames looks and smells amazing.

"Seen a lot of people use Comfort but I used Aldi Almat for just over £2.

"You can use on tiled or wood flooring too! The results are amazing!"

"If it goes on creamy/slimy the just add more water," she advised.

"I've seen people use cotton cloths. I used microfiber to put on the a glass cloth to rub off."

Other shoppers on the group couldn't get enough of the hack, with one explaining it's perfect for her TV stand which is "always streaky".

Others said they would be using the tip on the front door, while another suggested the radiators.
