Topping the UK album chart this week are Mumford & Sons, with their third album, Wilder Mind. Selling 81,300 copies since its release, the banjo-less new record is the band’s second chart-topping album; it has knocked Blur’s The Magic Whip down to No 2.
It almost a year since its release, but Sam Smith’s In the Lonely Hour continues to occupy the top end of the chart at No 3. Ed Sheeran’s x moves forward three places to No 4 and 1,000 Forms of Fear by Sia also saw a surge, climbing eight places to complete the top five.
Elsewhere, grime artist JME scores his first top 40 this week with his third album, Integrity>, at No 12, while alt-pop act Django Django are in at No 15 with their second album, Born Under Saturn.
The top five singles chart remains relatively similar to last week’s list. While Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s See You Again and Carly Rae Jepsen’s I Really Like You are non-movers, at No 2 and No 3 respectively, reggae artist Omi continues his stay at No 1 with Cheerleader. “I knew it was a good song when I recorded it but I always say, I don’t determine whether it’s a No 1, the people do,” OMI told OfficialCharts.com. “Thanks to the people. I’m a fan of my fans, I love you very much. Thank you.”
This week’s highest new entry, at No 4, is All Cried Out by the house duoe Blonde and featuring Alex Newell. Lean On by Major Lazer, featuring Mo and DJ Snake, completes the top five.
