Mumbai U-19 player tests positive

MUMBAI: Just ahead of their Cooch Behar Trophy (for Under-19) quarterfinals against Rajasthan from January 11 in Pune, Mumbai suffered a jolt as one of their players tested positive for Covid-19.

"Yes, one player has tested positive, but all the other players have tested negative, including his roommates, who have now been isolated. The players are in a strict bio-bubble in Pune. We're happy that Mumbai are in the quarterfinals, and we want the team to be focused on the game" Mumbai Cricket Association secretary Sanjay Naik told TOI on Saturday.

On January 5, the BCCI had postponed all the tournaments in domestic cricket, excluding the Cooch Behar Trophy, after a nationwide surge in coronavirus cases.
