MUMBAI: S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) virtual autumn internship placements saw its median stipend rise to Rs 2.8 lakh, a growth of 16.6% over 2019. The average stipend soared above Rs 2.6 lakh, clocking a growth of nearly 30% compared to 2020.
More than half of the two-year full-time PGDM batch received offers of Rs 2.6 lakh and above and more than 95% of the batch had offers above Rs 2 lakh for the two-month internship.
FMCG continued to be the most dominant sector in terms of the number of hires, with 33% of the participants placed in this sector. The season brought 27 new recruiters on Bhavan's SPJIMR campus. The hiring reflected a sense of cautious optimism over economic recovery as pent up demand kicks in, fueling a new growth cycle in the aftermath of forced lockdowns.
