MUMBAI: From Tuesday, the first 'special corner' to screen patients and their relativ-es for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes and hypertension will begin functioning at Sion hospital.
BMC plans to set up NCD co-rners at 16 of its hospitals, including the 5 medical schools. "NCD corners will be a part of passive surveillance. We'll start active surveillance with door-to-door visits," said executive health officer Dr Mangala Gomare.
