MUMBAI: In a similar incident, a landslide near an under-construction building at Pedder Road in June this year resulted in a cracked footpath close to a hillock, a few buildings away from Prabhu Kunj, where the late singer Lata Mangeshkar lived.
As the incident took place late at night and there was no one on the footpath, no casualties were reported. Officials later said that the landslide took place when excavation for the basement of the building was underway.
