Mumbai police seek custody extension as Raj Kundra refuses to cooperate: Reports

The Mumbai Crime branch is likely to seek extension of Raj Kundra’s custody in connection with the pornography-related case citing non-cooperation by the businessman.

According to a report in a news portal, Raj is not cooperating with the police and has no answers to the questions he is being asked by them. The report also added that the businessman is denying all the charges against him.

A police official told the news portal that Raj is saying he never made porn movies. They are now planning to inform the court about how Kundra is not cooperating in the police investigation and not divulging any details. The official further added that despite whatever Kundra has to say, they have strong evidence against him in the case.

Raj has been arrested for creating pornography content for mobile applications. He was sent to police custody till today, July 23. There were various reports doing the rounds speculating on Shilpa’s involvement in the case. However, a recent report revealed that she will not be served a summon in the case.

On Monday, the police had described Kundra as the key conspirator in the case, which was registered on February 4 at the Malwani police station in suburban Mumbai. Kundra has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

Along with Raj, about 11 other people have been arrested for alleged involvement in a case relating to the production of pornography.
