Mumbai Police arrests ‘designer’ Aniksha Jaisinghani for ‘blackmailing’ Amruta Fadnavis

MUMBAI: Mumbai Police on Thursday arrested 'designer' Aniksha Jaisinghani for allegedly blackmailing Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Jaisinghani will be taken for medical examination and later kept at the Azad Maidan lock-up.

Amruta had filed a complaint against the 'designer' for allegedly trying to offer her money to intervene in a criminal case and threatening her.

The first information report (FIR) was registered at the Malabar Hill police station on February 20, on Amruta's complaint.

The FIR was filed against Aniksha, who was in touch with Amruta for the past 16 months and also visited her residence, and her father, PTI had reported.

Meanwhile, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said an appropriate inquiry will be done into the first information report (FIR) registered in connection with an attempt to bribe and blackmail his wife.
